In the remote past, the country called Zhang Zhung was known as a great empire throughout the Orient. Other civilizations have left behind ruins that have been excavated as evidence of their existence but because Zhang Zhung was basically a nomadic civilization few traces of its physical presence remain. The history of Zhang Zhung, however, has been preserved in both Bon and Buddhist traditions. The whole of Tibet in ancient times was known as the Zhang Zhung. Zhang Zhung is the source of Tibetan culture and history. The capital center of Zhang Zhung was Kailash Manasarovar region which is still unknown where its lies. Humla's Lapcha valley is known as Zhang Zhung southern Gate. All Buddhist people of Humla came to Nepal using Lapcha La pass with their family God "Pholha", ancient Zhang Zhung culture, Yaks and sheep folks 19 generation before. Now tourist can not enter from exact Zhang Zhung southern gate to Tibet except Humla's Shamanic God only.
